Bonds of Love and Understanding
Our lovely pets are much more energetically tuned in to us than we think and since our animals don’t communicate with us in the conventional human conversational sense, they can be very adept at finding their own ways of telling us what they would like and how they are feeling.
This can be very entertaining and Grace our Jack Russel is very good at going through a whole performance to tell us when she should be getting fed and then excitedly running around the house telling everyone that her dinner is going out and “I’m getting dinner.”
Finlay on the other hand is a very kind boy and a much quieter individual than Grace. He is one of the world’s worriers and the way that he sometime communicates his feelings on an energetic level is quite amazing.
At the moment there are a lot of new houses being built around us and consequently a local walk can take us past some general and random building site noises.
If Finlay becomes unsure about those noises it is evident since as well as the visual cue of him changing the position in which he carries his tail, I find that I start to feel discomfort, in the form of a worried feeling within my own body specifically in the area of my solar plexus.
I know that this feeling is coming from Finlay because neither the position in which he carries his tail nor the building site noise bothers me in the slightest.
On an energetic level the solar plexus chakra represents amongst other things the sense of self and self-confidence and this is the same for our animals as it is for ourselves.
When animals communicate their emotional discomfort in this energetic way it is very easy for us to be pulled into our own worry cycle due to our concern for the worry we both see and feel in our pet and when we do this, we are actually energetically replying to them, “I know and I am worried about the situation as well.”
A great way to counteract this is by thinking about a very nice occasion and the feelings associated with that occasion. This will also allow the sharing of positive supportive energy to reassure our pets when they are telling us that they are worried.
If we are out walking when I feel Finlay’s worry, I keep it very simple, and I think about sitting in a comfortable chair in the peace and quiet of my back garden, where I am just relaxing and enjoying the sunshine on a beautiful sunny day.
I then think about and feel the feelings associated with sitting relaxing in the sun, and how nice it is, and I send those feelings to my solar plexus while I am walking along with Finlay. I also imagine a large bubble surrounding both Finlay and I, and I then share the same feelings to fill that bubble.
It really doesn’t matter what occasion we think about, it is the supportive energy that we create by thinking of something very nice that helps send a positive reply to support our pets when they are communicating to us that they feel unsure or worried.
And the lovely result for Finlay is that although he is still not thrilled about the random building site noises, he finds it much easier to cope with.
Having animals within our lives is a wonderful thing and the energetic bonds of love and understanding that we can create during the time that we spend with them never ceases to amaze me.
