✨ Meet Jennifer (JJ) – Our New Sports Massage Therapist at SPEAR! ✨

Sports massage at SPEAR is incredibly popular so we’re delighted to welcome Jennifer, also known as JJ, to the SPEAR team 🎉
JJ will initially be working at Aberdeen Sports Village weekday evenings and a Saturday morning.

JJ is just weeks away from completing her MSc in Physiotherapy and brings a wealth of experience and enthusiasm to the team. She has run her own sports massage business for the past two years, provided pitch-side first aid for local football and rugby teams, worked as a physiotherapy assistant, and taught fitness classes! 💪🏼

Passionate about health, fitness and helping people feel their best, JJ loves meeting new people, taking on new challenges and using her skills and knowledge to make a real difference.

We’re so excited to have her on board and can’t wait for you all to meet her! 🙌🏼

Throw back to last Friday……
🤩 What a fantastic afternoon of neuro inservice training! 🧠💪
We’ve been exploring outcome measures, including the amazing technology of VALD force plates, and it’s been so inspiring to see how we can use these tools to better understand progress and outcomes after a neurological event.

We’re coming away with lots of exciting ideas about how all of this can benefit our fantastic patients and help us continue to deliver the very best support and rehabilitation. 🙌✨

And to finish the day on a really special note, our final presentation came from Willie, one of our amazing neuro patients, who is developing a website for fellow stroke survivors, focusing on positive pathways and support following a stroke. ❤️

We can’t wait to see it come together — website coming soon!! 🌟

GRANITE GRIT POUND FOR POUND CHAMPION 🏆🪨

Congratulations to (Stuart Watt), our pound for pound winner from the SPEAR Dinnie Stones Challenge at !

Using our VALD ForceDecks, we tested maximum strength and compared everyone’s result relative to their bodyweight.

Stuart came out on top across everyone who took part, while producing the equivalent of 65% of the force of the Dinnie Stones. 💪🪨

A brilliant effort and a well earned free 45 minute SPEAR Performance Assessment! 🏆

A massive thank you to the organisers of , , and , for having us along and putting on such a great event. Kev, Ginie and Mannat loved being part of it!

And thanks to everyone who came over to the SPEAR gazebo, took on the challenge and added their score to the leaderboard. The competition throughout the morning made it great fun for us too.

GOLF PERFORMANCE: THE PHYSICAL GAME ⛳️

A look back at a great evening at Meldrum House Country Hotel & Golf Course last Tuesday for our Golf Performance: The Physical Game event.

SPEAR Physio Karen and Performance Manager Kev from , along with James from , joined Neil Marr Golf for an evening focused on making the off-season count for golfers.

We discussed how golfers can use the off-season to develop their physical game, with a focus on strength, power and physical preparation. We also really enjoyed showcasing some of the technology we use and getting everyone involved in the live testing.

We’re excited about the multi-disciplinary team we have supporting golfers, bringing together performance, physiotherapy and Neil’s technical golf expertise to provide a joined-up approach around the individual golfer.

A big thank you to everyone who came along, asked questions, tried the equipment and got involved. The interaction throughout the evening made it a really enjoyable event for us too.

And a big thanks to Meldrum House for hosting us! ⛳️💪
