Happy 1st Workversary, Tracey! 🎉

We recently celebrated one year of Tracey as Deputy Support Manager at our Melksham branch. Over the past twelve months, her hard work, commitment and support have made a real difference to our carers, our clients and the wider community 🌟

Thank you, Tracey, for everything you bring to the team, with a special thank you from Paula, who, like the rest of us, has valued working alongside you this year. We’re looking forward to another brilliant year together at Abney & Baker 💙

Did you know breast screening doesn't stop at 71? 💗

NHS screening invitations come every three years until a woman's 71st birthday, and then the letters stop. Many people assume that means screening stops too. It doesn't. Women aged 71 and over can still have free screening every three years by calling their local breast screening service.

And at any age, if you notice a change, you should contact your GP straight away.

This Breast Cancer Awareness Month, pass this on to your mum, nan or aunt.

A sneak peek behind the scenes 📸

We recently spent the day with some of our Bath carers for a photo and video shoot, capturing the real moments that make home care what it is: a cup of tea, a chat, a familiar friendly face at the door, someone keeping an eye out for early signs that things have changed.

A huge thank you to everyone who took part and made it such a fun day. The finished photos are coming soon, so stay tuned! 👀

When visits alone no longer feel like enough, families often assume the next step has to be a care home. But there's another option many haven't fully looked at: live-in care.

A trained, DBS-checked carer lives in your loved one's home and gives continuous, one-to-one support. Routines stay the same, the garden stays theirs, couples can stay together and pets stay with their loving owners.

Swipe through to see how it works and how to get started. Our free guide covers the rest.

Last week, our team headed to the Care and Support West Awards as finalists for Community Based Organisation of the Year. 💛

Being shortlisted alongside so many brilliant care organisations from across the region was a real honour. Congratulations to the winners, and to everyone recognised on the night.

Most of all, this nomination belongs to our carers and office team, who show up for our clients and their families every single day. We're so proud of you.

🏆 We're finalists! 🏆

We're so proud to share that Abney & Baker has been named a finalist for Community Based Organisation of the Year at the Care & Support West Awards 2026! 🎉

Tomorrow we find out if we've won, but whatever happens, we already feel like winners because of YOU. 💙❤️💛

To every client, family member, carer, and partner who has been part of our journey: Thank you. Together we've built something really special, a community where people feel seen, supported, connected and more independent at home.

We believe great care starts before a crisis. As a preventative home care and support provider, our mission is to help people stay independent, healthy and happy in their own homes for longer. That means building genuine relationships, spotting small changes early, reducing loneliness and making sure no one feels they're facing things alone. Community isn't an extra in what we do. It's at the heart of it.

And we're only getting started! We've got more events and exciting plans coming very soon, so stay tuned to see what we've been preparing for you. ✨

Keep your fingers crossed for us tomorrow! 🤞

We recently celebrated a very special milestone together with Kristy, last week it was her 10 years anniversary with Abney & Baker!

A decade ago, Kristy joined us as a carer, bringing warmth, dedication, and a genuine passion for making a difference in people's lives. Over the years, that passion never went unnoticed. She grew into a Support Manager, guiding and building her team with the same care she gave to clients. Today, she proudly leads as Registered Manager of her own branch. A journey from carer to leader, built entirely on hard work, heart, and an unwavering commitment to quality care.
Please congratulate Kristy on this incredible 10-year milestone. Here's to the next chapter of an amazing career thank you for everything you do! We appreciate you from the bottom of our hearts. 💙❤️💙
