A few years ago someone said something to me that changed the way I looked at a decision I had made.
I had completed a course and was in the process of setting up a business. I had told people what I was doing, started building a website and invested a lot of time and energy into making it happen. But the more I worked towards it, the more I realised it wasn’t actually what I wanted.
And yet I felt I had to carry on, I had made the decision, after all. Then another woman said to me:
“Just because you’ve made a decision, it doesn’t mean you can’t make another one.”
It sounds so simple and it was exactly what I needed to hear. It gave me permission to change direction without feeling that everything I had done up to that point had been a waste.
I think that’s something worth remembering in perimenopause when so much of what we once wanted, believed or imagined for ourselves can begin to change.
You are allowed to want something different now.
Save this for the next time you need that reminder 🤍
