Enrich lives and empower people living with disabilities through adaptive recreation.

Established in 1984 as a non-profit organization, Challenge Mountain was the first independent adaptive skiing program in northern Michigan. Today, Challenge Mountain offers adaptive recreational and social opportunities that continue to enrich lives and empower individuals living with disabilities. Each year, Challenge Mountain connects children, youth and adults living with disabilities through adaptive skiing, equine therapy, ropes challenge course, adaptive biking, sailing and SPIRIT Day Camp. Individuals of all ages and abilities can take part in Challenge Mountain’s programs at no cost, including those living with physical, cognitive and developmental disabilities.

Yesterday was our 8th annual Halloween Spooktacular, where almost 200 individuals with disabilities, parents, caregivers and volunteers came together for a day of fun and celebration!

This fun, family-friendly event is open to individuals with disabilities of any age! We will have yummy treats, fun games, spooky crafts, ATV rides and more.

No cost. No registration. Just come and enjoy a variety of tricks and treats! 👻 Celebrate the season at Challenge Mountain. And feel free to share far and wide!..

Thanks to the Great Lakes Center for the Arts Next Gen program, several of our participants and their families were able to attend a special, sensory-friendly performance of Artrageous.

WOW! Thank you Nubs Nob for your ski swap donations!

This new shipment of downhill skis, cross country skis, boots and additional winter gear will be heading to the Challenge Mountain Resale Store in the coming week.

The revenue generated from the sale of these items goes directly back into providing free adaptive ski lessons and year-round recreation for individuals with disabilities of all ages! 🎿❤️

Each year, Challenge Mountain connects children, youth and adults living with disabilities to life-enhancing recreational, cultural and social opportunities including adaptive skiing, equine therapy, ropes course, fishing, kayaking, adaptive biking, art and dance classes, Spirit Club and Spirit Day Camp. School has been back in session for a few weeks now, and we're thrilled to report that we've been having an amazing start to our classroom and group activities!

Fall in northern Michigan is a truly special time of year - the crisp air, the vibrant foliage, and the endless opportunities for outdoor adventure make it the perfect season to get students or clients engaged in recreation and enrichment activities 🍁🏞️

We're proud to offer a range of exciting field trip options through Challenge Mountain, including adaptive biking, fishing, equine therapy, and adventure activities at Camp Daggett. 🌟
