HHS just announced a new interim policy on six compounding peptides. Here’s what it covers and what it doesn’t.👇
On Oct 28, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services announced an enforcement discretion policy for BPC-157, TB-500, KPV, MOTS-c, Semax and Epitalon. While the FDA completes its review, state-licensed pharmacies may compound these peptides, subject to strict conditions:
A patient-specific prescription is requiredOnly one peptide per productApproved routes of use for eachTested ingredients from FDA-registered facilities..
What it doesn’t do: make these peptides FDA-approved, or confirm they’re safe or effective for any use. The policy is interim and can be revisited.
