✨ **Your hormones deserve a little more attention. And so do YOU.** ✨

We're here to make wellness feel less overwhelming, hormones easier to understand, and taking care of yourself a priority.

At Venice Beach HRT, we believe feeling your best shouldn't be something you just hope for. It's something worth learning about, advocating for, and investing in.

We're talking hormones, midlife health, weight loss, everyday wellness, and everything in between. Because there's so much more to your health than a number on a lab report. 🤍

**Follow along for education, encouragement, a little myth-busting, and reminders that feeling good at every stage of life matters.**

Let's make feeling better the new normal. 💚

We’re so used to looking at women in their 50's and asking:

“What does she do to look like that?”

But that’s not where my mind goes as a healthcare provider.

I’m thinking about what’s happening underneath the surface.

How is she sleeping?

How is she feeling?

How are her hormones changing?

Is she maintaining muscle?

How is her metabolic health?

How are stress and mental wellness affecting the rest of the picture?

Because looking well and feeling well are two very different conversations.

After 30+ years in healthcare, I’ve learned not to stop at the obvious symptom or the number on the scale.

I want to understand how the pieces connect.

That’s what I mean by looking at the whole person.

If you’re tired of guessing about what’s going on with your own health, comment “ANSWER” and we’ll send you the link to book a consultation.

Let’s look deeper.

“Kinda chic” but make it aging well.

There’s nothing glamorous about constantly feeling exhausted, losing strength, sleeping poorly, or wondering why your body suddenly feels unfamiliar.

What is chic?

Being strong enough to carry your own bags.

Having the energy to do the things you actually enjoy.

Knowing what’s changing in your body instead of guessing.

Taking your hormones and metabolic health seriously.

Eating in a way that supports your muscle.

Recovering instead of running yourself into the ground.

And asking questions when something doesn't feel right.

After 30+ years in healthcare, I care much less about looking young and much more about helping people stay well, strong, and capable as they age.

That’s the kind of aging I can get behind.

Very chic.

Your 40s are not the time to wait for something to go wrong.

They're the time to get curious about what's changing.

After 30+ years in healthcare, these are five things I would put on the radar:

1. Protect your muscle.

Don't wait until strength starts slipping. Make resistance training and adequate protein part of your routine now.

2. Know your numbers.

Blood pressure, blood sugar, cholesterol, body composition. Don't make the scale your only measure of health.

3. Pay attention to hormonal changes.

Sleep, mood, energy, libido, periods, recovery, and body composition can change. Notice the pattern instead of brushing it off.

4. Stop normalizing feeling terrible.

Being tired all the time is not a personality trait. Neither is waking up exhausted, struggling with brain fog, or feeling unlike yourself.

5. Think beyond your 40s.

The choices you make now can help support the strength, mobility, energy, and health you want later.

You don't need to overhaul your life overnight.

But you do need to start paying attention.

What you notice now can be worth addressing long before it becomes a bigger problem.

There is something deeply important about this story from Dr. Mary Claire Haver that has nothing to do with one bad doctor.

It shows what happens when women's symptoms are dismissed long enough that dismissal becomes part of the culture.

A woman can walk into a room with changes in her sleep, mood, weight, energy, libido, or menstrual cycle and leave with one more referral, one more “normal” lab result, or one more explanation that makes her feel like the problem is in her head.

I've been practicing in healthcare for more than 30 years.

And one thing I have learned is that when a woman tells me, “Something has changed,” I want to understand what changed.

That doesn't mean every symptom is caused by hormones.

It means we shouldn't decide the answer before we actually look at the whole picture.

Her physical health.
Her mental health.
Her hormones.
Her sleep.
Her metabolic health.
Her history.

Women deserve to be taken seriously before their symptoms become severe enough that someone finally decides they're worth investigating.

If you've been feeling like something is different but haven't been able to get a clear answer, comment “LISTEN” and we'll send you the link to book a consultation.

You can have “normal” labs and still not feel like yourself.

The exhaustion.
The anxiety.
The brain fog.
The poor sleep.
The weight that suddenly feels impossible to lose.

Too often, women are told to pick one symptom and treat it.

But your body doesn't work in separate little boxes.

Hormones, mental health, sleep, metabolism, lifestyle, and aging can all overlap.

After 30+ years in healthcare, this is exactly why I don't want women to stop at “everything looks normal.”

I want to know:

What changed?

When did it change?

What else is happening?

And what might we be missing?

Sometimes the most important question isn't “What can I take for this?”

It's “Why is this happening to me in the first place?”

If you've been told everything is fine but you know you don't feel fine, comment “ANSWERS” and we'll send you the link to book a consultation.

Your 40s will bring changes.

That doesn't mean you have to sit back and accept all of them.

After 30+ years in healthcare, these are some of the things I want people to start thinking about before they become problems.

Muscle.

Hormones.

Metabolic health.

Sleep.

Recovery.

And how you actually feel day to day.

You can't stop aging.

But you can be more intentional about how you age.

You can build strength before you lose it.

Pay attention to changes instead of dismissing them.

And get curious about what's behind the symptoms instead of automatically calling it “just getting older.”

Your 40s are not a deadline.

They're an opportunity to build a stronger foundation for the years ahead.

If you're ready to take a closer look at your health, comment “40” and we'll send you the link to book a consultation.

I’ve been in healthcare for more than 30 years, and if there’s one thing I’d tell my younger self, it’s this:

Don’t wait until your body forces you to pay attention.

Start building the foundation before you need to rebuild it.

For me, that means strength training, protecting muscle, paying attention to hormonal changes, taking sleep seriously, and staying on top of metabolic health.

It also means noticing when something feels different.

Because “I’m just getting older” can become an easy explanation for a lot of things that deserve a closer look.

And I’ve seen enough patients to know that the goal isn’t simply to live longer.

It’s to stay strong enough, healthy enough, and well enough to actually enjoy those years.

That’s what I’d prioritize.

What would you add to the list?

Had to jump on this trend - check out Sue's reaction 🤣
