How do we share self-Havening widely, while preserving respect for Havening’s clinical power?

At the 2026 Havening Conference, Havening Techniques® Trainer Erika Neil presents Sharing Self-Havening Widely While Preserving Respect for Havening’s Clinical Power.

The growing use of Havening as a self-help tool, at home and across communities, has broadened access to support and raised public visibility. This session explores Havening’s contribution to individual and community wellbeing, and how we can best convey its value as a therapeutic modality when delivered by a trained practitioner working with a client.

Erika is a trauma therapist, Director of Humanitarian Havening and co-author of two books on Havening for young people. She brings Havening to schools, families and communities worldwide, as well as to her clinical practice.

You know you can help people. But if they don’t know what you do, or how you can help them, it isn’t much use to anyone.

At the 2026 Havening Conference, featured speaker Professor David James presents The Double Duty of Care, a talk for practitioners on two linked responsibilities: making your work known to the people who need it, and pricing your services so you can earn a living doing it.

Pricing can feel awkward for practitioners and clients alike. This session offers practical ways through those dilemmas.

What does presence mean when danger is real and trauma is not a memory, but an ongoing reality?

At the 2026 Havening Conference, trauma therapist, humanitarian worker and author Ivona Olofsson shares insights from her work in Ukraine in Presence in Times of War: Insights from Ukraine on Healing, Trauma, and Human Resilience.

Together, we’ll explore how therapeutic presence, human connection and nervous system regulation can create moments of safety, even when external circumstances cannot be changed. Participants will gain insights into working with ongoing trauma and maintaining a grounded, compassionate presence in challenging circumstances.

Ivona is the founder of Spektrum Therapies in Sweden.

What if presence isn’t just about attention, calmness, or being in the moment?
What if it’s a biological availability to what is here?

At the 2026 Havening Conference, Dr. Steven Ruden, co-developer of Havening Techniques®, invites us to explore this idea through simple experiences, neuroscience, and clinical observation. Together, we’ll look at how history, significance, state, and perception shape what becomes available to us, and how our availability influences what becomes possible when two people meet.

This isn’t a talk to simply learn about. It’s one to experience. 💛
