In this group we will journey in the realm of the subconscious using both an active Breathwork practice and the language of self hypnosis. Liminal states offer us the opportunity to co-create with our minds, to influence and create new thought patterns that change what we deem possible for ourselves. We will be offering our subconscious minds visions of possibility, expansion and hope and engaging in a dialogue with the deeper levels of ourselves, always with an emphasis on curiosity and kindness.

Breathwork is an active meditation that by occupying the mind creates space for the body to release somatic holding, to experience emotion that might not be available at the surface and to access intuition, insight and inner strength. This is your practice and I encourage everyone to breathe at a pace that feels right for you and to use this practice as a container of self holding, self listening and self care. Breathwork is a powerful and practical tool to work with your own energy, a bridge out of the critical mind and into deeper resources available to all of us.

This is what I’ve been thinking about lately while working on your faces. I had a teacher in acupuncture school who advised treating those who wanted facial work for shen disturbance, she’s clearly never worked on faces. To hold a face in your hands is such an expression of care and trust, to sit for an hour with your heart in open proximity and to witness the change as tension releases, as blood flows back, as deep levels of relaxation are achieved, it’s such an honor. Our conscious emotion lives at the level of blood. Moving blood moves emotion. My intention is that you experience yourself fully while on the table and that you gift the world with the fullest expression of who you are.

We crossed into fall and seemingly overnight the weather became cool and it got darker. We are moving inward as we move seasonally into these yin seasons. In the evenings I like to turn off the lights and use candles, a luminary reminder to wind down and to reflect.

Today at my local farm store, alongside the tomatoes and blueberries, was this apple. For us city folk it’s helpful to look for these signs of the changing seasons, moments for reconnection and remembering who we actually are, human, animal, elemental, beings intrinsically connected to this earth. The flowers as I walk to work through what’s left of the flower market tell a similar story, fall is becoming.

Breathwork for Being Human is a container to hold the ‘both and’ of being a human on this planet at this time, the grief and joy, the difficulty and beauty, and all the spaces and places in between. Come exactly as you are, bring whatever is going on with you, we will release, make space and call in. Breathwork will meet you where you are and offer a way to hold, shift, understand and integrate your emotions.

Breathwork is an active meditation that by occupying the mind creates space for the body to release somatic holding, to experience emotion that might not be available at the surface and to access intuition and insight. This is your practice and I encourage everyone to breathe at a pace that feels right for you and to use this practice as a container of self holding, self listening and self care.
