Diastasis Rehab Bulging belly, outie belly button, or back pain? Diastasis recti may be the cause—and surgery isn’t your only option. The word diastasis means separation.

Learn about the Tupler Technique® and get free resources: https://diastasisrehab.com/pages/tupler-technique-programs So a diastasis recti is a separation of the rectus abdominis or the outermost abdominal muscles. When the muscles separate, the connective tissue that joins them stretches sideways. The more it stretches sideways the thinner and weaker it becomes.

The final lesson of this series is the one to carry into daily life:

Diastasis recti and the pelvic floor must be treated as partners.

A complete approach includes:

Protecting the abdominal midline.

Using transverse abdominal awareness.

Breathing during effort.

Coordinating pelvic-floor contraction and release.

Tracking consistency.

Progressing exercise gradually.

The goal is not to live in fear of movement. The goal is to move with enough awareness that your abdominal wall and pelvic floor remain supported.

To learn more about my program, get your complimentary Tupler Tips through the link in the comments below. For pelvic-floor feedback and training support, visit my kGoal link below.
